About David Donovan

After graduating with a bachelor of science in business and finance from Boston College's Carroll School of Management in 1986, David Donovan joined Fidelity Investments as a senior trader in its Technology Group. In this capacity, he led a 30-member domestic trading desk. Focusing primarily on equities, baskets, derivatives, and futures programs, David Donovan spent 13 years at Fidelity and was its highest-ranked trader from 1999 to 2005.

Following his tenure with the firm, David Donovan joined Boston’s Publicis Sapient and ultimately became the executive vice president. He continues to serve in this capacity, leveraging more than 25 years of tech-oriented financial services experience to provide digital transformation and risk management solutions to asset-management and investment banking clients such as UBS and Merrill Lynch. Specifically, he helps these and other clients to build more efficient commodities trading desks.

In addition to assisting clients, Mr. Donovan has been quoted in several news media and written articles for publications like The Financial Brand. A longtime proponent of the digital overhaul of the financial services sector, he was recently interviewed for an article in The Financial Times that discussed the impact of the COVID-19 global pandemic in spurring the banking industry to embrace technology.
